A Pakistani army brigadier has been arrested for suspected ties to a banned group, the military has said. Major General Athar Abbas, spokesman of the Pakistan military, on Tuesday said Brigadier Ali Khan was linked to the outlawed Hizb-ul-Tahrir group. Abbas said Khan, assigned to military headquarters in the garrison town of Rawalpindi, was in charge of drafting army regulations. Al Jazeera’s Imran Khan reports.

@bilalbutti Are you saying that ideas are only applicable based upon their age? What does that make for democracy that pre dates Islaam? History contradicts what you are saying as the Islamic States of the Past, particularly in Cordoba and Baghdad produced a great deal of progression in many sciences Natural, Physical, Literary etc.
The Muslim world has become backward because Islaam is not implemented. You’ll find western puppets like Zardari in power in Pakistan not people who want Islaam.
@Historicalia Only reason Muslims today are in present situation is due to the fact they look for solutions to every problem in 1400 years old Quran or ahadith. It seems thinking out of the box, or this case book, is out of the question. Progress of society and evolution of the mind is impossible under these circumstances.

@Invesigator And let me say this separately so you can understand, just sindh’s thar desert alone has more valued coal reserves than oil reserves of Saudi Arabia, and Iran PUT TOGETHER. Balochistan has CNG and Gold reserves, Punjab has finest hydal power and irrigation system. NWFP/pakhtoon hwa has finest places for tourism. In short, Pakistan has more than most other nations on this planet could only hope for!
@bilalbutti Rosseau’ s Idea of social contract grew up in western socities under different circumstances to what has taken place in the Muslim world’s history. You cant copy and paste solutions from one civilisation to another because the historical context differs. Muslims have only ever progressed when Islaam was implemented in all aspects of life. It is not a religion like christianity but a comprehensive way of life carrying solutions for all man’s problems (personal and societal).
@Invesigator Just a week ago, i saw news on geo, that some tajiks were killed by border police. Over 5 million Afghans were camped in NWFP in 1988, all expenses paid by Pakistan & USA. In 2001, even greater proportion of Afghans fled into Pakistan, Swat and most Peshawar was completely occupied by Taliban till Pak army recaptured the occupied land. Pakistan from get go should have treated Afghans with equal respect with which they treated Indian Muslims during khilafat movement before partition!
@bilalbutti Not at all, a locality such as Pakistan would be used as a launch point to unify other muslim lands. None of the major powers in the world today e.g USA, China, Russia adopt the nineteenth century nation state model…rather they are transnational entities encompassing large mass of land, people and resources. Nations such as these have progressed due to their intellectual wealth..not competition alone ..and Adam smith never said this in itself would ever achieve progression

Progression of a country stems from its evolution due to competition with its fellow countries e.g. in the golden era when inventors, physicists, biologists, chemists, and mathematicians competed with each other to prove their superior intellect. As for society, it is based on social contract of individuals with eachother. I dont c da need to put in any religion

Look at the borders in the muslim lands, you will see the people on either side are related peoples. Hizb ut Tahrir has articulated policies in its draft consitution, and its books if you disagree ok. How would you run a society, economy according to Islam?
@Invesigator, 30% of adult individuals living in pakistan dont have their id cards made, mostly they are immigrants from Afghanistan, Iran, Palestine,etc.All chaos in Pakistan is due to these illegal immigrants. In the name of Islam, Pakistan gave them shelter, instead of being thankful, they are plotting and carrying out terrorist attacks against Pakistan. @pakiman47 Allah did say so in the Quran he says in Surah al Baqarah that he created Adam as a Khalifah on the earth and the scholars of Islaam have clearly said it is an established obligation based upon this ayah and many others. The prophet pbuh mentioned in many ahadeeth the issue of khilafah. Islam through its usool: Quran, Sunnah, Ijma and Qiyas has given details as to how government is run and organised. In short the Khilafah existed until 1924 in Turkey until it was abolished in 1924.

@IslamicRedemption Hizb ut tahrir should start with their own country, they are not welcome here. They are not stupid to spend millions gathering youth and giving lectures every where, main objective is to attain power. And i have heard their lectures, they make it sound so obvious while it is not, they don’t have any understanding of banking or economics. Only vulnerable individuals fall to their trap!!!
@IslamicRedemption can u explain what that even means? if allah wanted us to have a khalifah, he would have said so. there is nothing in islam which points to one form of government versus another. khalifah is a man made system that has nothing whatsoever to do with islam. it’s just the way some muslim governments were structured many years ago. a basic reading of islamic history will show you that even then not all islamic nations had a khalifat.
Senior members of the Pakistani Military are beginning to see that only the Islamic Khilafah system can elevate Pakistani society and the rest of the Muslim World. Every other method has failed in Pakistan…whether it be democracy or dictatorship. The Khilafah is a unique system that will take Pakistan forward by the will of Allah.
@bilalbutti The reality is that Hizb ut Tahrir have articulated very clearly its constitutional, economic, social, Judicial and political positions and future policies. It has the solutions to take Pakistan out of the the backward grip of Zardari and company and shape the future of a progressed Pakistan and subsequent Muslim World.
